Job Description

As a Collection Officer, you will be responsible for managing and recovering outstanding debts on behalf of our client’s financial institution. This role requires excellent communication skills, persistence, and the ability to work effectively in a target-driven environment. You will be the first point of contact for customers who have overdue accounts, and your professional approach will be crucial in maintaining positive relationships while ensuring timely debt recovery.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of overdue accounts and develop strategies for effective debt recovery
• Contact customers via phone, email, and in-person to discuss outstanding balances and payment arrangements
• Negotiate payment plans and settlements that are mutually beneficial to both the company and the customer
• Maintain accurate records of all collection activities and customer interactions in the company’s CRM system
• Identify and report potential fraud or suspicious activity to the compliance department
• Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly collection targets and KPIs
• Prepare detailed reports on collection activities and recovery rates for management review
• Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations regarding debt collection practices in Qatar
• Collaborate with legal teams when accounts require legal action or escalation
• Provide excellent customer service while maintaining professional boundaries and company policies

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field
• Minimum 2-4 years of experience in collections, credit control, or financial services
• Strong understanding of debt collection laws and regulations in Qatar
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills in both English and Arabic (preferred)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software applications
• Ability to work under pressure and meet challenging targets
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Valid Qatar driving license (preferred for field visits)
